OVERLOOKED SENTIENCE AND INTELLIGENCE

Mice are animals endowed with high intelligence, remarkable empathy, and acute sensitivity. Contrary to stereotypes, they form complex social bonds, recognize their peers, demonstrate altruism to help one another, and express joy or depression depending on their environment.

THE HELL OF LABORATORIES

Despite this sentience, mice are the primary victims of animal experimentation. Millions of them live and die confined in sterile plastic cages, deprived of any natural stimulus. In these laboratories, they undergo extreme pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or military tests, having diseases inoculated into them that trigger atrocious suffering.

MUTILATIONS AND CLINICAL TRIALS

Before being sacrificed, laboratory mice endure repeated surgical mutilations, sensory deprivation, and aggressive toxic tests. Corrosive chemicals are applied to their skin or eyes, organs are removed without adequate analgesia, and they undergo genetic modifications that generate severe and painful disabilities.

THE BREEDING AND FUR INDUSTRY

Beyond scientific research, numerous mice are bred in sordid conditions to serve as live or frozen food for pet reptiles, or exploited in the textile industry to supply a market for accessory fur. Crowded by the thousands in unsanitary sheds, they endure permanent stress that sometimes drives them to self-mutilation.

A BRUTAL AND COMPASSIONLESS DEATH

The end of their captive existence is generally expedited by barbaric methods: carbon dioxide asphyxiation, decapitation without anesthesia, or manual cervical dislocation performed by rushed operators. Their killing illustrates the utter contempt of this industry for their lives and suffering.
