Assuming a killing could be completely painless does nothing to change the fundamental ethical problem: taking the life of a sentient being for mere culinary pleasure remains an unjustified act. Furthermore, the idea of painless slaughter is a myth, especially in industrial systems where frantic production lines and the terror experienced by animals make a peaceful death impossible.
