Even if morality were considered purely subjective, virtually everyone agrees on a fundamental baseline principle: it is wrong to cause unnecessary suffering to sentient beings. Since we can easily live and thrive without consuming or exploiting animal products, all such suffering becomes, by definition, completely unjustifiable and avoidable.
